Famous Hoosier
Today the 4th grade presented Famous Hoosiers! Each student was assigned a Hoosier to research, complete a paper, write and recite a speech and construct a float displaying important facts about their famous person. TJ was Tony Stewart! We dug out Uncle Doug's yearbooks to include photos of Tony from kindergarten through his senior year. TJ did a great job on his float as well as his research paper. He even memorized his speech. Hoping for an A in Social Studies!

Spring Classic Tournament - Champions
TJ's baseball team went undefeated this weekend to win the BPA tourney in Muncie, Indiana.
TJ playing 2nd Base in final game.
They started with a win Friday night against the Huntington Panthers. Saturday morning they played the Wallen Wolfpack. They had some down time between games so the team tailgated grilling up some hot dogs while the boys watched movies in the back of our truck.
They then challenged the Noblesville Heat. Those wins advanced them to the championship game today against the Wallen Wolfpack. The tourney was double elimination so if our team lost, the Wolfpack would have to rechallenge us again for the championship. Luckily, our team did not have to play two games! Prospects Won and we celebrated with a late lunch at Lone Star!

Piano Evaluation
TJ will be wrapping up another year of piano lessons this evening. His recital is next weekend! He received the following year end evaluation comment from his instructors:
"He is a prime example of what we envisioned when we opened our studio 14 years ago - a bright student who continues to improve year to year and who has a great time doing it."
They also said they love his "competitive spirit".

Family Filled Weekend of Baseball!

Nan Collier (Diana's Mom), Diana, TJ and Papaw watch Devin pitch!
The 10U Prospects started the tourney on Thursday with a win. The 13U Blazers played Friday night but the final innings were postponed due to darkness. Games resumed on Saturday. Gramie and Papaw ventured up with Bill and Diana, as well as Diana's parents, John and Ramona. Of course, TJ's Papa was there. He rarely misses a game. TJ's team lost to the Smithville Sting at 10 a.m. but won their second game against the Mustangs at noon.
We took Gramie and Papa Mann to lunch while Devin and his team warmed up for their 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. games. They won one and lost one as well.

Prospects Win
TJ's team played the Westfield Rocks last night. It was a last minute scheduled game so TJ attended his piano practice/audition first arriving a little late to the game. Thanksfully, TJ's Papa was able to carpool him around for us. TJ went 1 for 2 with two RBIs. He played second base and we hear he had a nice play to tag a runner out at 2nd. They play at Roundtrippers next weekend - same location as TJ's buddy, Garrett (Bandits) and Cousin, Devin (Blazers). It will be a full weekend of baseball. Keeping our fingers crossed for dry weather!
Gall Bladder No More
Without a good excuse to postpone again, I underwent gall bladder removal surgery yesterday. Three small incisions and a bottle of pain pills and I am home being waited on by my two favorite men.
