Girls Trip

Every year following April 15th, a group of us escape to Florida for a few carefree days! Melissa and I have not missed a year since we started going. This year, Lauren, Vicki, Jennifer and Kirstine joined us!
Rules are pretty basic...no chicken nuggets, alcoholic beverage with dinner, no cooking (except boiling water for jello shots), and no discussion of work - atleast minimal comments. The agenda is just as basic... wake up, caffiene up, head to pool, pour bloody mary, read book, lunch, pour beer margaritas, read book, snack, more beverage, shower, go out to dinner, watch movie, bed...repeat.
Vicki, Heather, Jennifer, Lauren, and Melissa arrive at Ft. Myers airport.

Kirstine arrived a few hours later!

King of the Mound Tourney

Prospects Win! It was an exciting afternoon of baseball. We played McCutcheon in the semi-final game and after some clarification of the rules midway through the game, the Prospects advanced to the Championship Game. It was 4-0 after the first inning but quite a few errors in the 2nd inning gave the Smithville Sting a 10-4 lead. Prospects battled and tied the game with 10 runs each in the 6th inning. Then it was extra innings until the Prospects bats got hot in the 8th and we took the lead to win 20-12. It was a nail biter! TJ played two great games and brought home some hardware!!!!!

Prospects Win 2nd Game Today

Despite playing in a dust bowl, the Prospects defeated the McCutcheon Mavericks this afternoon 15-6. Teammate Aiden suffered a sprain and we hope he is game ready tomorrow. TJ closed the game with 8 pitches: 3 up - 3 down! Great Game Prospects!

Indiana Prospects

This year TJ is playing baseball with the 10U Indiana Prospects. They are a full time travel team. They started their season with a win in league play last Tuesday. They played the Edgewood Bulldogs. Todd best friend, Aaron and his daughters, Alyssa and Riley were able to attend! Today, they are playing in their first tourament at Indy Sports Park. They won their first game 14-7 against the Indiana Irish. TJ plays 2nd base as well as right & left field. They return to the park at 4 p.m. to challenge another team. GO PROSPECTS!

Jared Visits

Last weekend, my cousin Jared, his girlfriend, Colleen and her daughter traveled from Chicago to visit Grandma, my dad and my Aunt Carol (Jared's Mom) who traveled here from Virginia. It was a beautiful day at dad's. The kids (large and small) fished. TJ's friend, Jack caught 4 fish! Colleen's daughter caught several as well and put them in a bucket because she wanted to take them home! Jared objected!

Delay in Blogging - Must be Tax Season

It is April 10th. There are exactly 5 days to file your taxes with the IRS. This is frenzy time at work. This is the week in which every excuse is heard as to "why" client's financial information is just now arriving on our desk to accurately prepare thier tax returns as well as "why" clients must, absolutely must not extend thier return. Ah - job security. The hours are longer in April but knowing there is a definite deadline and the the feeling of "project completion" is great on April 16th.

Anyway, my personal life takes a back seat in April and thus blogs are sparse. I will catch up soon. I have pictures from Easter as well as the Final 4 to post, Indiana Prospect baseball game updates, and a visit from my Aunt Carol, Cousin Jared and his girlfriend to share.

Stay Tuned!

Happy Easter

TJ woke to find 42 plastic eggs hidden in the house containing $7.30!!!!!!!! No chocolate. What am I to do? His antique basket was filled with toys, movies and a Webkinz Ferrett. Yep - a cross-eyed Ferrett. No fuzzy pastel bunny!

We are now headed to Greenwood to lunch with TJ's great grandmother, my dad and brother. Then we will venture further south to join Todd's family for dessert and an Easter egg hunt. I am keeping my fingers crossed for some good old fashion milk chocolate!

P.S. Butler won the NCAA tournament Semi-Final and will challenge Duke Monday night for the Championship! GO DAWGS! Todd and TJ will be there for the 9:30 p.m. tip-off. Good thing TJ does not have school tomorrow so he can power nap!
