USSSA Tri-State Invitational World Series Qualifier 2012 12U Champions

Originally, the Travelers were not scheduled to play this holiday weekend but Coach decided to not go camping so most of the team opted to play at Billericay Park. They played two pool play games to be the #3 seed. Met up at high noon today for the semi-final game - winning 9-1 in the 4th inning. They had to sit and wait in 95 degree heat to find out who their opponent was. A rematch with Riley (from Fort Wayne) started at just after 3 p.m. The boys did great and won 6-1!!!! Here is TJ shaking hands with the opponent.

2012 CTK 7th Grade Baseball Team

Again this year, Todd and Jeremy coached the 7th grade CYO baseball team for Christ the King. Next year, they will actually have kids on the team! However, for the team's last game (rescheduled due to rain) on Saturday, the team only had 8 boys available to play so TJ and Jacob joined the team to alternate playing innings to cover the positions. The team finished the last game of the season with a game ending double play to win!

2012 Piano Recital

Happy Mother's Day! For me the day started with breakfast in bed and ended with TJ's annual piano recital. He played "The Jig" and "Rollin in the Deep" Adele would have been proud. I am excited that TJ announced he would like to continue lessons next year!

Doug & Amanda

They are getting married in June! To celebrate, Todd and I hosted a "couples shower" for them this past Friday night. We hired musician, Chad Mills, rented some tables and chairs and a horse trough to hold the beer and served light snacks. Amanda and Doug invited approximately 50 of their friends and family. We invited the neighbors. The weather was perfect as was the evening. Everyone seemed to have a great time. Doug and Amanda received some very nice gifts.

Great Neighbors

When Santa delivered Lea Christmas Eve so many years ago, we quickly realized that a puppy would need attention mid-day. Todd was working too far away to come home at lunch and tax season was quickly approaching which meant I would not be able to travel home for lunch daily. So we reached out to our neighbor, BettyAnn to pet sit during the work day. We agreed to a daily price. She and Lea became great friends during this time and I realized the bond when I came home for lunch one Spring day and looked into the backyard to find BettyAnn picking up Lea and letting her go down the playset slide over and over again! Since then BettyAnn has continued to pet sit for Lea when we vacation or find ourselves gone for longer than a dog bladder can last. She and her husband, Wayne have been great neighbors to us!!

Flash Tourney in Cincy

TJ's 12U baseball team "Travelers" played in the Flash baseball tourney on the far east side of Cincinnati this weekend. They earned the 2nd seed during pool play but lost in the championship game. However, Runner-up in a tourney like that is nothing to hang your head about! TJ went 6 for 8 for the weekend and played 1st. He and his teammate Garrett have a quick and nasty pick off move.
