NFL Experience

Indy is hosting the party of the year - Superbowl. Unfortunately, our beloved Colts are not playing but the city is alive with excitement none the less. Today, we spent the day downtown and attended the NFL experience. We saw many friends and the boys had a great time! The highlight was the Play 60 event in which they did drills and played flag football with some NFL players. It was a 20 minute wait to get signed up and then another 45 minute to their session but well worth it!

CYO Tourney

It has begun. The Tigers won their first match today and will challenge another team tomorrow. Hoping for a win to advance in the bracket! GO TIGERS.

PS TJ has informed us that he has scored 136 points during the CYO season thus far!

January Birthdays

We gathered in Columbus last evening to celebrate Todd's brother, Bill as well as his sisters, Tina and Danelle's birthdays. Diana fixed fajitas and we topped it off with cake/ice cream. It was a nice evening until the ride home. The west coast ice storm had made its way to the midwest. We traveled home on icy roads counting no less than 8 cars off the road and/or accidents. Luckily, I was driving and Todd was not about to critic my slow speed and we arrived home safely although the knot in my upper back from being so tense has yet to subside.

Geography Bee

First I had heard of it was last night. Just before bedtime TJ states, "I am in the geography bee tomorrow at 1:30, can you come?" Apparently, TJ finished first for his class in the preliminaries and therefore qualified for the finals which was held in the gym today with all the middle school kiddos watching. He did great but did not win the competition. An eigth grader was declared the winner - he knew more about rivers and countries that I could ever hope to. He will go on to take an exam and if he does well enough will compete in the National Geography Bee. What I learned today is that there is such a competition and my son obviously at some point has spun the dust off that globe in his room! I am one very proud mom!

Finally - Snow

It has been an odd winter thus far. Cold then unusually warm then cold again. However, we finally has some snow. Not much, just flurries but gives us hope of sledding and being pulled behind the 4-wheeler soon!

Happy New Year

We celebrated the new year at a party hosted by friends, Brian and Marisa Walker in thier lovely home. TJ spent the evening with his friend, Mason. They stayed up later than us!!!

Bye Bye Herbst Hello Bottom Brackets

TJ celebrated the end of 2011 with the removal of the herbst appliance from his jaw. This was used instead of headgear and rubber bands with his braces to align his jaw. After 11 months he is free of the restrictive device but they installed bottom brackets. We are definately getting our monies worth and we are in the home strech to a beautiful smile and jaw line! Thanks to Dr. Walker and Dr. Dixon!!!!
